Vintage White Lace and Mesh Form Fitting Bodysuit - XL/2X

Regular price $54.00 Sale

Seriously ADORABLE white mesh and lace form fitting lingerie bodysuit! Has a super sweet vintage girdle-style fit (similar to shape wear) which gives it it's form-fitting snug fit! Adjustable straps and crotch, no underwire but it still gives lots of support (most vintage bras don't have underwire, instead the way they were constructed supported & lifted breasts). The cutest vintage detail: a little baby flower right in between the bust, SO sweet!! Fits like a modern women’s size 34J and body fits like a women's size XL/2X.

For reference, I am 5'10" and usually wear plus size L/XL on top/at waist & size XL/2X on bottom/hips/booty; my bust is 39”, waist is 32”, hips are 47”. This item was too large at the bust but fit me very well everywhere else. It best fits sizes XL and 2X, and fits like a modern bra size 34J (if you want to read more about how I came to that conclusion please refer to the very end of the listing where I give even more details):

Bust: 42-48”

Under bust: 34-40”

Waist: 32-40”

Hip: 40-50”

Length: 29”

Tag: Rago, made in USA, size 48C

Condition: Excellent vintage condition - shows usual signs of pre-ownership but nothing major at all to note of!

Additional Sizing Information:

This bodysuit is listed as a size 48C. After researching into vintage bra sizing (https://www.thelingerieaddict.com/2015/07/making-vintage-bras-work-for-you-sizing-sourcing-and-wearing-bras-underneath-your-vintage-clothes.html and https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/bullet-bra-sizing.39415/) I’ve found that vintage bras tend to use larger band sizes rather than larger cup sizes (which is what we see more often today with companies that carry larger than a DD cup, think Elomi, Natori, Chantelle rather than Victoria’s Secret, etc).

Taking that into account and taking into account that this item is from the 90’s (not an older vintage piece from the 50’s or 40’s) the sizing listed as 48C is probably pretty accurate.

Because vintage bras tend to use a larger band size (vs larger cup size) and given that this bra probably has a pretty accurate size listed on it’s tag (given that it’s only from the 90’s), I looked up 48C bra sister sizes (http://www.sizechart.com/brasize/sistersize/index.html) to see if I could figure out what a more modern size would be for this bra. Sister sizes for 48C are: 46D, 44E, 42F, 40G, 38H, 36I, 34J, 32K.

Taking into account the under bust measurement (34”) and how we measure bras today (https://www.calculator.net/bra-size-calculator.html?bustsize=44&bustsizeunit=inch&framesize=34&framesizeunit=inch&x=75&y=25), it seems like this bra fits most like a modern size 34J. :)

Additional measurements:

The bust measures at 38” when lying completely flat & not taking into account the cups (for bra measurements I usually go along the cups to get a more accurate/non-gaping measurement).

Taking the cup’s measurements into account the bust measures at 42”.

When stretched to full capacity the bust measures 48”.

Each cup measures 12” across and 10” down.
